Me

My name is Nick, born and raised in Ghent, Belgium.

In 2014 I started studying at Luca School of Arts in Ghent for a Master in Visual Arts and learned a lot about graphics, photography, film, printing, screen printing, painting nude models, philosophy, art history, etc, … But I’ve always been interested in tattoos and street culture.

I've started my journey with a fascination for Sak Yant tattoos.  I went on a trip to Thailand and I wanted to do a lot of research and study behind this subject. Then I started to design tattoos by myself . They were mainly focused on Asian themes from the Tibet or Buddhistic/Hindu culture and medieval wood cuts because I grew up in a very medieval town in terms of history (Ghent).
 

I started doing an apprenticeship in Noir in 2016 and started tattooing in my private studio at home. Because of this I really started to appreciate traditional tattoo style and above all understand it.

 

Nowadays I’m a full time independent tattoo artist, still working in Noir in Ghent and at my private studio in Gentbrugge.

 

I find it difficult to explain my tattoo style. It varies along with my emotions and my interests. I get my inspiration from historical themes, heavy metal music, the biker culture, and above all, everything dark and evil.

Finally, I would like to say that, whoever you are, I will do everything that I can to create a perfect piece, adapted to your wishes with a touch of Nickskin.
